How accurate are our calculations?

Two different questions hide inside that one. Where the planets were when you were born, we can answer to a fraction of a degree. When something will happen in your life is a probability, and we say so.

1. The planets: measured, not estimated

Every chart on this site is calculated by our own ephemeris engine, inside your browser. It uses the same planetary theories that professional astronomy software is built on:

Sun and planets: VSOP87 (Bretagnon & Francou, IMCCE, Paris).
Moon: ELP/MPP02 (Chapront, Paris Observatory), one of the most precise analytical lunar theories.
Rahu / Ketu: mean node and true (osculating) node, your choice.
Lagna and houses: with nutation; Placidus cusps for KP.
Ayanamsa: Lahiri (Chitrapaksha), KP (Krishnamurti) and Raman.
Time corrections: ΔT from measured values, light-time and aberration, Indian war time (1942–45) applied automatically.

Tested against the Swiss Ephemeris on 2,000 random births between 1900 and 2100 (80% at Indian places). One arc-second is 1/3600 of a degree.

Vimshottari dasha dates agreed to within half a day (average 0.07 days). Navamsa (D9) and Dashamsa (D10) positions did not change in a single chart.

In plain words: if your birth time is right, your planets, Lagna, nakshatra, padas, divisional charts and dasha dates are as exact as any professional software will give you.

2. Your birth time: the real limit

The Lagna moves about one degree every four minutes. A birth time that is off by fifteen minutes can change the Lagna's nakshatra pada, the KP sub-lord of a house and the dasha dates by months. That is why the form asks how sure you are of the time, marks the time-dependent parts of the report as provisional when the time is approximate, and offers Birth Time Rectification from your life events.

3. Timing of events: a probability, honestly stated

We tested our timing method on 126 people with verified birth times (105 marriages, 96 first children). A single month is right about 1 time in 5. A three-year band around the strongest stretch holds the event about 2 times in 5 (nearly half with the second band). No method we tried, Parashari, KP, Bhrigu Nandi Nadi or Lal Kitab, alone or together, did much better than that.

So the reports give you a band and the odds, not a date. When you tell us an event has already happened (a marriage, a child), the report reads that event instead of guessing it. We would rather be useful than impressive.

4. What this means for you

Trust the chart: the positions, yogas, strengths and dasha sequence are exact.
Treat timing as weather, not a train timetable: prepare in the favourable band, do not stop living outside it.
Give the birth time from a certificate whenever you can; if you cannot, use the rectification.

हमारी गणना कितनी सही है?

इस एक सवाल में दो सवाल छिपे हैं। आपके जन्म के समय ग्रह कहाँ थे, यह हम डिग्री के अंश तक बता सकते हैं। आपके जीवन में कोई घटना कब होगी, यह एक संभावना है, और हम इसे संभावना ही कहते हैं।

1. ग्रह: मापे हुए, अनुमानित नहीं

इस साइट की हर कुंडली हमारे अपने गणना इंजन से, आपके ब्राउज़र में ही बनती है। यह वही खगोलीय सिद्धांत इस्तेमाल करता है जिन पर पेशेवर खगोल-सॉफ़्टवेयर बने हैं:

सूर्य और ग्रह: VSOP87 (Bretagnon & Francou, IMCCE, पेरिस)।

विंशोत्तरी दशा की तारीखें आधे दिन के भीतर मिलीं (औसत 0.07 दिन)। नवांश (D9) और दशमांश (D10) किसी एक कुंडली में भी नहीं बदले।

सीधे शब्दों में: जन्म समय सही है तो आपके ग्रह, लग्न, नक्षत्र, पद, वर्ग कुंडलियाँ और दशा की तारीखें उतनी ही सटीक हैं जितनी कोई भी पेशेवर सॉफ़्टवेयर देगा।

2. जन्म समय: असली सीमा

लग्न हर चार मिनट में लगभग एक डिग्री चलता है। पंद्रह मिनट की गलती लग्न का नक्षत्र-पद, किसी भाव का KP सब-लॉर्ड और दशा की तारीखें महीनों तक बदल सकती है। इसलिए फ़ॉर्म पूछता है कि समय कितना पक्का है, अनुमानित समय पर रिपोर्ट के समय-आधारित हिस्सों को अनंतिम लिखता है, और जीवन-घटनाओं से जन्म समय शोधन (BTR) देता है।

3. घटनाओं का समय: ईमानदारी से कही गई संभावना

हमने अपने समय-निर्धारण को 126 लोगों (पक्के जन्म समय; 105 विवाह, 96 पहली संतान) पर परखा। किसी एक महीने का अनुमान लगभग 5 में 1 बार सही बैठता है। सबसे मज़बूत दौर के आसपास तीन साल का बैंड लगभग 5 में 2 बार (दूसरा बैंड मिलाकर लगभग आधी बार)। पाराशरी, KP, भृगु नंदी नाड़ी या लाल किताब, अकेले या मिलकर, इससे ज़्यादा बेहतर नहीं निकले।

इसलिए रिपोर्ट आपको तारीख नहीं, बैंड और संभावना देती है। जब आप बताते हैं कि कोई घटना हो चुकी है (विवाह, संतान), रिपोर्ट उसका अनुमान नहीं लगाती, उसे पढ़ती है। हम प्रभावशाली दिखने से ज़्यादा काम का होना चुनते हैं।

4. आपके लिए इसका मतलब

कुंडली पर भरोसा करें: ग्रह-स्थिति, योग, बल और दशा-क्रम सटीक हैं।
समय को मौसम की तरह लें, रेल की समय-सारणी की तरह नहीं: अनुकूल दौर में तैयारी करें, बाकी समय जीना न रोकें।
जन्म समय जहाँ तक हो प्रमाणपत्र से दें; न हो तो शोधन का इस्तेमाल करें।
